11/7/2021 0 Comments You are not disqualifiedIf you go through a challenge like divorce in life, you can start feeling like you are disqualified. Who am I to talk about relationships - have relationships - know anything at all about relationships - when I failed at the only one I ever personally committed to make last forever?
And it's not just divorce. People feel the same way when they lose a job or flunk a test or make the worst mistake anyone has ever made. They feel disqualified. They feel like they have lost their voice and any right to ever look for it again. I just want to tell you this morning, you are never disqualified. When God created you, he qualified you forever. You can't disqualify you. Your friends and family can't disqualify you. You are forever qualified. On top of that, the world NEEDS you to find your voice. There's a world full of people out there feeling disqualified, and they need someone who will tell them loud and clear - you are as qualified as you've ever been to live your life. The truth is, I've had many conversations about relationships lately. I know better than ever how much we need them; I know how broken and disjointed life can feel without them. I know better than ever what makes a relationship a relationship - and the extremes we'll go to in order to believe a relationship is a relationship. What I've discovered in many of these conversations - the words of the disqualified can help the disqualified feel qualifed once again. The light of the broken can often be the light that puts the broken back together again. We spend way too much of our lives looking for reasons to disqualify ourselves and others. That is darkness. The world needs more light. The world needs us reminding each other we are forever qualified. I can't disqualify me. You can't disqualify me. I can't disqualify you. You can't disqualify you. Because you and I - we are forever qualified. We just need to keep reminding each other of that. Because that - well, that is light.
